Domestic Policy › Gun Control
8>8 Personal answerThere should be a ban against the mentally ill and those who are convicted of violent crime from purchasing a gun. Additionally, there should be mandatory background and follow up checks, psychological screening and testing - at LEAST every year. Every year we pay taxes to drive a car. IN many areas, we take our vehicles in for emissions testing to calibrate the decision that this car is still not a threat on our environment. Similarly, gun owners should be required to check in with a doctor face to face, to assess mental stability. Gun owners should pay annual taxes to own a gun just like we do with our cars and houses. Plus illegal guns are used by criminals more so there should be more of an emphasis on illegal guns. |
