Should there be more restrictions on the current process of purchasing a gun?
Citizens should have the right to protect themselves, and to carry equipment they see fit to do so.
The Second Amendment is a constitutional right and should not be infringed. Criminals don't follow laws. Banning guns only removes the ability of lawful citizens to protect themself. Local law enforcement won't always be there, and sometimes will even avoid such scenarios, such as during the 1992 Los Angeles Riots, when several business owners had to take up arms and defend their homes, businesses, and families against rioters as police did absolutely nothing. In this day and age, the sad truth is that it can happen to anyone. It's up to the individual to protect themself. Not everyone agrees with lethal force, and I entirely understand if you don't. However, that's not an excuse to take away that ability from other lawful citizens to use such force themselves. At the end of the day, if you don't want to protect yourself with a gun, you don't have to. But that doesn't mean you should stop others from doing so either.
