Let's bring this to an extreme situation. What if china or russia (In a few years of centuries) try to invade us? what would we do? we didn't invest and upgrade our gear and they have better things than us and were going to put up a fight and we get invaded. And they win because we didn't have enuf time and money to upgrade our equipment.

America is far and away nearly impossible to invade, our citizens are all armed and we are geographically separated from any major power who could ever threaten us, its 99% certain that there will never be a land invasion of the United States.
