No if the doing so does nothing. If transportation becomes free then the homeless and those in poverty can get to jobs faster and have a greater area that they can search for a job. This could potentionally increase circulation of the economy. We also have to consider the fact that pollution and global warming are becoming a greater threat to our future. Though we are facing the issue of over spending and our country is in extreme debt. While this issue is mostly a state level issue, the government could put some restrictions or requirement on public transportation.
