How exactly does allowing homeless individuals to live/sleep on public property (as opposed to other locations in every city in the country where they live/sleep) "promote deteriorating mental health among the homeless population?" I should think it would be the opposite - public properties are usually cleaner and better kept than underpasses and gutters and would probably be a welcomed change. Similarly, being on public property won't "increase . . . open drug use" - everyone who does drugs (including the tens of millions more who do them in the privacy of their own homes) are illegal and it has to be done covertly. And what "diseases" will be more easily spread on public property? Those who share needles are going to share them amongst themselves, not jab you as you walk by.
You ought to have just said "I think homeless people are gross and don't want to see them."
