Public school teachers have the monumental task of cramming as much information as possible into their students to pass State examinations, and maintain a modicum of control of hormonal teenagers for 7 to 8 hours of a day at 45 minutes to a shot. These people do not need to worry about security. There are hundreds of thousands of separated veterans from the military with security skills, why not give them task and purpose with the mission of securing a school? Most parents I know would do it for free if they could afford the time off from their jobs. Providing dedicated and well trained professional security allows teachers to focus on their already daunting tasks, provides jobs, and most importantly, keeps children safe.
