Although the good it may do on the circumstances where a shooter is in the school the counterweight of a student being able to physically overpower the teacher and take the gun is also a possibility, having the possibility for potentially depressed and suicidal teenagers be able to kill themselves at school is a risk not worth taking.

It's definitely worth the risk because if that did happen and other students saw one of their classmates trying to overpower the teacher there would be another student that would stop them from doing that, plus a teacher could simply threaten to shoot the student attacking them if they don't stop.
