Sports teams teach greed and selfishness. Also, watch any of the major sports and you will see that the mentality is that there is an I in team.

Yes, if we could all work together and come up with a compromise for certain problems our country might not be as split politically and you can see everyone's different viewpoints on the subject

 @9H8V55V from Illinois answered…6mos6MO

Bringing groups together for the greater good of the planet is something that we should all try to do

 @9H8XKK3 from Texas answered…6mos6MO

Cooperation will be better for everyone. However, climate change is a natural occurring event that will eventually become too large to overcome.

Humans do not have the power to effect the temperature of the Earth, the Earth naturally goes through changes.

 @9HZZJ9M from Texas answered…4mos4MO

I believe this is one of the many ways that a nation and their citizens could speak up about issues that people are feeling, in regards to their socio-economic and political status within the country. As a result, this oould result in political leaders to focus on their society and provided what they will for the people that support them.

How can learning about a culture different from your own enhance the way you understand social issues?

 @9J29QL7 from Ohio answered…4mos4MO

It can bring more ideas and more context to the table than just the front you might be seeing online or heard being talked about. Learning about another culture can also just help you better understand other people and why they make the actions that they make.

In which area do you believe your generation can make the biggest impact by working with others who have different views?

 @9J2BNLB from Utah answered…4mos4MO

I think we just have to understand that we are different and treat someone as a person, not a political party. I know of people who aren't willing to hire a liberal because they assume that they are going to be more entitled. It's also been obvious that some companies (*cough cough* Disney) are hiring actors and others just because of the color of their skin or their Sex and Gender. Is that not racism?

Can you imagine a society where political labels are less important than common goals; what would that look like to you?

 @9H946VV from California answered…6mos6MO

I think that would be better because people that cant even vote or don't pay taxes take politics way too seriously

It seems to be good in concept, but humans are by nature flawed and it won't work on a large scale.

In what ways can engaging with works of art from various cultures deepen our understanding of humanity?

 @9HTQM2W from New Jersey answered…4mos4MO

The greatest way to combat ignorance is with experience. Experience with other cultures and their people, as we as humans have an indelible ability to connect with anyone on a humanitarian level when it is in front of us. Ignorance and prejudice are borne when we are removed from a situation so engaging with the cultures of people different to us are the first step to removing this hurdle.

How does working with people who have different skills and hobbies challenge and improve your own abilities?

 @9JDR4KH from North Dakota answered…4mos4MO

I enjoy learning new things. Even if a person's hobby isn't something I would personally want to pursue, I still would want them to show or tell me all about it. In sharing their interests and skills, they are sharing themselves. I think that really lends itself well to good communication and community.
