Keeping the benefits going up, up, and up for the bigger you make your family is counter intuitive.
Put a limit on the top dollar amount they can receive.
Increase benefits for the elderly and disabled, as this sub-set of the population is more likely to be unable to work and support themselves.
ALSO, reform the system so that it supplements, rather than replaces, a working income.
No one is going to die from have to give 20 hours of their time a week to a non-profit in their are to receive "their" funds, whether it is from the state of federal level.
They can "donate" thier time to food pantry's, shelters, any place that needs more helping hands...
