I believe that personally i would never want my wife to abort a child we had conceived but it is her natural right to do so as she is the one who would have to face the hardships of carrying an unborn child for 10 months.

 @9GL578C from Texas agreed…6mos6MO

The government should not have the right to dictate what women do with their bodies. Additionally, there are almost half a million children in the foster care system with 40% reporting some kind of abuse in the system. If the government wants to regulate people's lives they should start with children that have already been born not the ones that haven't been born yet.

 @9GJLRN3 from Texas agreed…6mos6MO

I don't agree with it but it's not my body so i don't have the right to say what to do with it. Also if we have the right to life and a the fetis is killing the person they should have an abortion to live.

 @9G2ZS9D from Illinois agreed…7mos7MO

If someone is comfortable with aborting their baby then that is their decision, but I don’t think the government should be able to tell them what they can and can not do.

 @9GBCD27Constitution from Kansas agreed…6mos6MO

i don't agree with abortion but its not right right to take someone's right to choose what they to to their body away from them.

 @9GQ3DQ9 from Mississippi agreed…6mos6MO

Abortion should be a decision between the mother and father. The government has no business dictating what a woman does with her body. Having government intervention in something like this makes a very difficult decision even worse.

 @9G62SYZ from Louisiana agreed…7mos7MO

No one is telling you to get an abortion and no one has the right to berate a woman for this. Women already face discrimination for living, we don't need more. We need support. I'm personally not going to get an abortion, but I would never attack someone for doing so.

 @9GCV5LL from Pennsylvania agreed…6mos6MO

I think that unless it was without consent you shouldn't be allowed to just do whatever you want and prevent a baby's life, however it isn't for me to decide what others do and they should have the right to make their own life choices.

 @9GZQG37 from Pennsylvania disagreed…5mos5MO

The government shouldn't be able to tell people to have a baby if there is endangerment or trauma being done to the mother or the baby.

 @9FNW88TDemocrat from Illinois agreed…7mos7MO

What the government doing is wrong and they should not ban it because it will increase the risks of lives if it threatens them.

 @9B7ZJLM from Washington disagreed…1yr1Y

Government's sole purpose is to defend the rights of its people, so if the government can't ban it you might as well abolish the government.

 @9H39F9P from Utah disagreed…5mos5MO

If you don't agree fine, but you'll learn sooner or later. The government has every right to ban abortion, the make the laws, they are here to help the people. They are here to serve and protect this country, if they can makes taxes and bills, then they can decide if abortion is constitutional.

 @9GXZBFF from New York disagreed…5mos5MO

If anything, abortion should be a state's right to choose and not enforced at the federal level but at the state level.

 @9FPC4BF from Washington agreed…7mos7MO

I don’t trust the government to regulate abortion, as it has done a bad job so far and peoples lives have been endangered as a results

 @9GRNB67Republican from Pennsylvania disagreed…6mos6MO

The Government should ban it so it stops and limits things like this from happening, I think other alternatives should be taken as well.

 @9HZFV63Peace and Freedom from California agreed…4mos4MO

Why would the government have a need to care on what we do with our body if they didn't have a care for any other things that people do- yet I bet the majority wouldnt know who is who in this society and making a big change with that factor is wrong.

 @9H2FN24 from New York disagreed…5mos5MO

I'm against abortion if the couple wanted the child but if a women or teenager was raped and got pregnant she should be able to abort the child instead of having to give birth to a child and remember the struggle she had to go through because of the man that did it to her.

 @9GXCGM3 from Nebraska agreed…5mos5MO

The number of abortions can actually increase when you further restrict abortion, and that is the case since Roe v Wade was overturned. If we want to decrease the numbers of abortion procedures in this country, we need to make abortion more accessible in every zip code.

 @9GNR4Z3 from California agreed…6mos6MO

Although that doesn't make it right to get rid of a child that was resulted from something other then rape. Those people should be ashamed of themselves for not initiating safe intercourse and getting rid of a yet to be born baby off because of their negligence. They should have the right to have an abortion if they're not ready to become parents. Also, sometimes partners have accidents and they shouldn't be punished by not being allowed an abortion because it can result in a dysfunctional family for that future baby.

 @9G638F7 from Pennsylvania agreed…7mos7MO

As a male i should have no standpoint in this as I cannot have children and don't believe my opinion is necessary because its my body, also the government should not be able to interfer with my personal choices

 @9FTRRM6 from Oklahoma agreed…7mos7MO

like i had said only time its okay to get an abortion is when you get raped and you dont want the kid from them.

 @9GMCGXB from Virginia disagreed…6mos6MO

I agree with this. I think it should be frowned upon but it is the women's choice but i could never do it myself

 @9GLG63Z from Arkansas disagreed…6mos6MO

I think that unless it was without consent you shouldn't be allowed to just do whatever you want and prevent a baby's life, however it isn't for me to decide what others do and they should have the right to make their own life choices.

 @9GXDLGW from Kansas disagreed…5mos5MO

You're right the government shouldn't ban it, they never should have created it in the first place because now everyone gets upset over a system that has a very racist background but yet it's okay because it is convenient for them.

 @9GNJC36 from California disagreed…6mos6MO

i think that they shuld put more rules like if the women has been S.A or rape or if the mother is in danger i think only then it would be alright for and a abortion. NOT just because u dont want the baby.

 @9LQPP8D from Virginia disagreed…3 days3D

The government should ban abortion to help protect the rights of the unborn children. Unborn children have the same rights as everyone else and they are more vulnerable because they cant protect themselves so it is our job to protect them.

 @9LPLSXMLibertarian from Virginia agreed…4 days4D

Women are able to make their own adult choices. Pregnancies and abortions are taken seriously and are not necessarily about birth control but about the health of the mother, the family, and viability of the baby.

 @9LGYV79Republican from North Carolina disagreed…2wks2W

The governments job is to protect the people so if they choose to ban it, it shouldn't be a federal law but a state law.

 @9LDS3HL from Iowa agreed…2wks2W

the gov has no right to tell women what they can or cant do with their body but I don't want people to abort children

 @9KS9P8F from New Mexico agreed…2mos2MO

To have an Abortion is a personal choice made by an individual, I don't believe the government has the right to stop an individual doing things to themselves.

 @9KRV2LF from Arkansas agreed…2mos2MO

How does a government that proposes to ban abortion plan to enforcement its ban? Why would any responsible government want to involve itself in the private birth control decisions of its citizens?

 @9KBN3J6 from Texas disagreed…2mos2MO

The u.s is overpopulated as it is they shoudlnt have a say it should be more taught to the people and especially through the schools system

 @9JW2H6C from Florida disagreed…2mos2MO

I feel the government should ban abortion altogether becuase it is just like murder. How come the government allows killings, how come if a person has an abortion they are innocent but if a person kills a person they are sentenced to life in prison? I say it is very unfair to say a choice is a choice might as well say murder is a choice!

 @9JFN7T6 from Illinois disagreed…3mos3MO

I don't agree with abortion, but the government has no right to ban it because sometimes, for women, it's not about wanting an abortion- it's about wanting the choice to have one. With abortion being illegalized, it makes women feel like that decision isn't even a choice, and it was stripped from them, and they didn't get to decide their path for themselves.

 @9JFCCNXIndependent from Iowa disagreed…3mos3MO

I'd encourage you to witness an abortion simulation. It is a gruesome and repulsive procedure so evil that it should be banned on a national level.

 @9H8KGH3Peace and Freedom from Alaska agreed…5mos5MO

Again, all lives matter and that includes an unborn baby. But it should be the persons, mothers, choice to stay with child or not; especially if that choice was taken from her. she should be able to decide if she would want to keep the baby or not if how she got pregnant was in a bad way such as rape or incest.

 @9G52FYQ from Utah disagreed…7mos7MO

I also agree with this. It is the woman's body, and the child doesn't belong to the government, but I would never have an abortion

 @9LPN2PL from New York disagreed…4 days4D

Government did not ban abortions, they gave the choice back to the states, which it should have been like forever. If you do not like your current state where they ban abortions, you have the choice to move. If you cannot afford to move, then do not have unprotected sex. If you use the excuse you cannot afford it, that means you most likely are on medicaid, Medicaid at the state level has to offer family planning services for you, so there is no excuse that you could not get a contraception.

 @9KBSJDP from Louisiana disagreed…2mos2MO

I agree that the federal has no right but the state government, depending on their constitution, has the right based on U.S Constitution.

 @9JXV9RTRepublican from Washington D.C. disagreed…2mos2MO

The government not only has a right to but an obligation to protect life. Government involves itself in so many affairs which it shouldn't, yet fails to on an issue which is actually prescribed to them in the preamble of the Constitution, etc.

 @9LQCY89disagreed…3 days3D

The government also gave you your rights that give you power so they should also be allowed to take them away if they see flaws with they're ways

 @9LQ6JDJRepublican from Iowa disagreed…3 days3D

The government most definitely does have the right to ban abortion. Why wouldn't it? Abortion is the intentional killing of an unborn child. Killing children is generally considered illegal in any other context. Killing anybody is considered illegal by our government in the vast majority of contexts. Why in the world would abortion be different? Because the child is inside the womb? Why does the child's location and current stage of life dictate whether or not it's okay to end the child's life?

 @9HXJ7LW from Idaho agreed…4mos4MO

It should be a right for a woman to do what she wants with her body and should be paid for by medical insurance if they need it and only financially helped by the government if it's rape, incest or life threatening.

 @9HD4BRD from New Hampshire disagreed…5mos5MO

I think abortion should be restricted after 15 weeks and before that it should be safe, legal, and rare. And that we should improve the adoption industry and promote birth control and better behavior of men and women. Why do I think this? Because life is precious and by doing this you are helping both women and the baby.

 @9K43Y5K  from California disagreed…2mos2MO

The government says murder is illegal meaning that since abortion is murder, it should be illegal and that the gov't should be allowed to ban it.

 @9HDKNXV from New York disagreed…5mos5MO

If it is in a circumstance we’re the mother can take care of the child but it is hard to give it Ik for adoption or in a situation of sexual assault they should have a choice

 @9H2QLZ8 from New Jersey agreed…5mos5MO

I do not believe abortion is a good decision in all situations. But for victims of rape or incest, they did not choose to have intercourse, and become pregnant. Rape and incest are horrible things and it is never the victim’s fault. This means the victim should have the right to choose, the government shouldn’t decide something such as that. To expand, having a child the victim didn’t choose to have can be very traumatic and can remind the victim of the event. It could also result in negative physical and mental affects to the victim. Also, in the case if possible harm or fatality in the mother or child, abortion may be the best option to insure good health.

 @9GSB2PX from North Carolina disagreed…6mos6MO

Yes I agree that the government has no right to ban it but by doing that they also have no reason to shut down the opinions of those that are pro life and don't agree with the government's banning choice.

 @9GRJ26NRepublican from Texas disagreed…6mos6MO

Since the Supreme Court’s historic 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade, the issue of a woman’s right to an abortion has fostered one of the most contentious moral and political debates in America. Opponents of abortion rights argue that life begins at conception – making abortion tantamount to homicide. Abortion rights advocates, in contrast, maintain that women have a right to decide what happens to their bodies – sometimes without any restrictions.

To explore the case for abortion rights, the Pew Forum turns to the Rev. Carlton W. Veazey, who for more than a decade has been president of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice. Based in Washington, D.C., the coalition advocates for reproductive choice and religious freedom on behalf of about 40 religious groups and organizations.

 @9GMXWB5 from North Carolina disagreed…6mos6MO

I actually agree with this point the government shouldn't ban it it should just be seen as bad through the public eyes
