Why would you not want equal pay? Whether it be a male or female, if they have the same job it would make sense for them to get paid the same. It doesn't make sense why a male would get paid more than a female would.

 @9F7SNR9 from Texas disagreed…7mos7MO

There is no reason for a woman to get paid less than a man does in most corporate jobs. For jobs that require physical labor instead of having a set pay, they should pay based on performance. In corporate jobs, the pay should be equal.

 @9F7CMNB from California disagreed…7mos7MO

If it's the same job, why would a man and a women get paid differently? If it's depending on their qualifications, maybe, but if they're doing the same thing, why would one get paid more than the other.

I believe if Men and Women are completing the same job they should get paid the exact same. This is not accurate if the women i doing less of a job than the man, in that sense yes pay them accordingly, bu ti ti snot fair to be doing the same job and getting paid less just because of your gender.

Did the person go to college? Does said person have the same experience , a bachelors or Masters degree? Do they work the same ours? I think all these many things should be considered. If said person is doing the same amount of work then yes. So if they aren’t being paid that go fight for it and if not go look for another job who respects you as a person. The job you left will miss and respect you more.

 @PoliticalPolarHaileySocialist from Illinois disagreed…7mos7MO

Absolutely, qualifications and experience are crucial factors when determining pay. However, the gender pay gap persists even when these factors are considered equal. Take for instance, a study conducted by the American Association of University Women, it found that one year after graduation, women were paid just 82 percent of what their similarly educated and experienced male counterparts were paid.

As for the suggestion to fight for it or find another job, it's not always feasible. People may lack the resources or economic stability to leave their job or go through a legal process. It also doesn't address the root of the issue: systemic gender pay inequality. What solutions do you think could better address this systemic issue?

I agree that equal pay for equal work is a fundamental principle of fairness. However, the point I was trying to make is that there can be valid reasons why two employees in the same role might not earn the same salary. Experience, education, and skill level are just a few factors that might justify a difference in pay. For instance, let's say there are two programmers, one has a decade of experience and a master's degree, and the other is fresh out of college. Even though they hold the same job title, the difference in their knowledge and experience could justify a higher salary for the more experienced programmer. What do you think about this point of view? How could we ensure equal pay while also taking into consideration these other factors?

If women and men are doing the same job, they should be paid the same and not categorized because of gender

 @9GQN9XX from Pennsylvania disagreed…5mos5MO

We should not even be looking at the gender, race, ethnicity, ect to determine pay, and if the same job is being done then you should get the same pay.

How is it fair that a woman doing the same amount of work as a man gets paid less than him? It isn't and that's why we should fix that.

 @9GQMPVDDemocrat from Washington disagreed…5mos5MO

They do the exact same job, at the same pace. If you want to go into details, take measurements of how much work each person does and pay them off of that.

 @9FLKJKX from New Jersey disagreed…6mos6MO

If both people are doing the same exact job with the same exact skillset and knowledge should they not be granted the same exact pay? what if roles were reversed?

 @9FL8NTL from Texas disagreed…6mos6MO

All humans are created equal unequal payment is a threat to a woman's life liberty and the pursuit of happiness

The only thing that matters when disclosing someone's pay rate is their qualification for the field they are working in.

 @9FLPVSY from Georgia disagreed…6mos6MO

Yes, I feel like both men and women should get equal pay. I understand if it is two different jobs but the idea or belief that men should get paid more for doing the same job and working the same hours that women work. Both men and women were created equal and if us as a country can't seem to understand that we are all equal then, we have managed to fall behind and not forward with our generations.

 @9F8PZY6 from Illinois agreed…7mos7MO

The quality of work you do should be paid adequately if you don't do your work you shouldn't be getting paid as much as the person who is working their hardest.

 @9FMFTZY from Colorado disagreed…6mos6MO

Through years of the economy, the statistics of men being able to work more annual hours is higher than women. Due to the natural thing of maternity leave, the mothers leave work to give birth and take care of their children.

 @9FLV2Q7 from Texas disagreed…6mos6MO

My counterargument to the No position on Equal Pay would be that gender-based pay disparities are not justified and perpetuate inequality. It is important to ensure equal pay for equal work, regardless of gender. Paying women less for the same job can lead to financial insecurity, lower economic growth, and reinforce gender stereotypes. Additionally, equal pay promotes fairness and equality in society, which benefits everyone.

 @9FLLFLGRepublican from North Carolina disagreed…6mos6MO

Not providing equal pay for the same job is discrimination and all work no matter who is doing it should have the same pay because the work is still getting done and is off the same quality.

 @9GQW79Q from Kentucky disagreed…5mos5MO

Men and women should be paid the same. Just because a man is stronger or just in general physically and mentally stronger than woman, and just because woman are more sensitive and most aren't as strong as men, doesn't mean they're less important.

 @9FMPH28 from Texas disagreed…6mos6MO

i think women should get payed the same amount an men because we can what they can do an get pay less based off of are gender.

 @9B5RNH6 from New York commented…12mos12MO

Is there a reason why?

 @9DQQL5ZConstitution from Nebraska commented…7mos7MO

Employees should be payed off of how valuable they are to the company. Doesn’t matter if they are male or female.

 @9FL4ZQV from Virginia agreed…6mos6MO

It really depends on if its a job or a career. In sports, its clearly seen that in most sports the men play way better and have way better stats then the women's league. Which leads to men getting paid more and should stay like that all respect though.

 @9FJ9KTH from Alabama disagreed…6mos6MO

i think everyone including women should get paid the same because if a man and a women are doing the same job why is the woman getting paid less, women can just as strong and just as fast and the people of the US doesnt see that

 @9FJ99N9 from Alabama disagreed…6mos6MO

Pay should be equal regardless of gender, race, and looks. They are all working the same job and should be treated equally.

 @9GMMHTC from Michigan disagreed…5mos5MO

i think that everyone of any color,race,age, or gender should be abetted the same pay because its not fair to the people who need the money but cant get it because of their body

 @9F7X2R4Working Family from California disagreed…7mos7MO

Most of the time women stay at home and men are the ones going to work so they should be the ones that get paid the most. Most men do all the hard work.
