The fact of the matter is this: The median necessary living wage across the US is $67,690, and almost half of the United States is making below that if not just above it. We need to make sure that the minimum wage is liveable because half of the United States is staring homelessness in the face.
The first step to this is making it so that large companies, especially those who hire a lot and make a lot of money, contribute enough of their budget to pay all of their employees a livable wage based on where the employee currently resides, and it should keep up with inflation.
