If your local sports team was to represent a newly independent region, would it change your sense of pride or support for the team?

No it would not change my support since I cannot control it

Not entirely, it is dependent on their reason for relocation of their representation. If they chose to do so, then I would harbor no ill will towards them, nor would I feel a need to support them further and I would hope that they continue to be great. If they were forced to do so, because of whatever exterior forces pushed them, then it would make me wish to support them even further.
