Probably not because people just love their weapons and using the most amount of force possible to get their point across

It’s not the love of weapons, it’s the love of themselves and their desire to not be controlled. Nations form around those who are more or less like minded. Agreeing so far as to be able to get along with each other more so than the other nations that surround them. And the more those ideologies differ, the more likely a war will break out between them. Civil wars occur when that nation has diverged in ideologies so much that even their own nation can’t hold together.

Weapons are just the means to the end.
