Why is it valuable for individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds to participate in governing bodies and decision-making?

I believe that diverse ethnic backgrounds should participate in decision making because even though we are all human being. We have different lifestyles and beliefs based off our upbringing due to our color or race of our relating culture.

Different cultures have different beliefs than other cultures which can lead to a fresh perspective and an increase in smart ideas.
