This should be a requirement because there are many students with disabilities, mental health issues, personality disorders, and physical differences. Teachers and faculty need to be train on how to deal with these kinds of student so they can handle the situation and student in the best way possible.

Teachers and faculty are entitled to their beliefs. They should not be accused of being inherently racist. That is offensive in its own right. The training should be optional but not forced on faculty.

I think that diversity training is unnecessary for many teachers as they already have to go through professional development and other required training which would make it unfair to add another one to their already heavy workload. Plus most teachers are already aware enough about diversity they don't need training.

Teachers should treat all students equally, and no further training is needed. If dei training is mandated, there will be too many exceptions. There are too many kids/students who already identify themselves with something beyond what we normally consider, and it will be overwhelming for educators. Their primary job is to teach math/English/other subjects, and their secondady job is to help students socialization, not the other way around.

Additionally, giving special advantage to certain minority groups actually induce more discrimination (from my own experience as a foreigner). Just treat everyone equally, don't think about what they are or how they identify themselves.
