Yes, but we should accept far more than the proposed 10,000 refugees, and while we should certainly prioritize families, we should never refuse refugees solely because they are single Muslim men. Not only does this practice specifically violate our foundational American values and ideals, the very laws we have created with which to govern ourselves and our fellow Americans, and basic human decency and vilify an entire sub-population of asylum-seekers, but to enact a policy such as this would be to overtly declare to the entire world that the U.S. is a land of cowards and hypocrites.
