The usage, production, possession, and transportation of cannabis should be legal for both medical and recreational purposes, subject to federal regulations. Persons that are serving sentences of cannabis possession should be released immediately for prison, as a result of decriminalization and legalization of cannabis. It is a priority to have cannabis legalization for medical purposes, as there is great potential of its health advantages in medicine. Prescription would be required by law from a physician to use this substance for medical use. Medical cannabis would be exempt from taxations or age requirements. There would need to be an identification requirement to verify the prescription is being used to the authorized patient. Recreational use of cannabis, however, must be subject to regulation: taxation, identification requirements, and purchase limits are seen as nesscessary at supporting moderation and protecting an individual's health.
