I feel like homeless people shouldnt be treated differently since they are human just like everyone else. Instead we should help the homeless by providing food, shelter, water, and clothing.

 @9FP6MXG from Texas disagreed…7mos7MO

Those who have a problem with homeless encampments should have to provide a better solution as to where these homeless people can go. Estimates say close to 13% of the homeless population are veterans, even more are disabled. By taking away places where homeless people can live and sleep peacefully, not only are you making life worse for them, but you’re subjecting them to move to areas which can disturb even more people.

 @9FLBTLX from Indiana disagreed…7mos7MO

Homeless people have a life already made difficult by the government. Having to show up to a court date and serve the government jail time for attempting to deal with their situation (which is most often caused by the state of the economy and government) is an unnecessary and downright cruel punch in the gut.

These human beings need help. When another human needs help you help them. This isn't a position it's human decency. How can you do nothing when see someone who clearly needs help. To make it criminal to need help is...... You know what yes let's make it criminal.

People deserve communities safe from mentally ill drug addicts, which is almost everyone who is homeless and on the streets

 @9FLL2YNSocialist from Texas disagreed…7mos7MO

homeless shelters are underfunded and riddled with disease, lice, violence, and sexual assault. i wouldn't want to live in one either

 @9FRFYBY from North Carolina disagreed…7mos7MO

If you want to charge them for an offence, instead how about we find them all a place to stay. so they don't be on the streets.

There should be more empathy and care for those who are homeless and have nowhere safe to go especially homeless veterans and sometimes these are public spaces like parks. It is also fair to mention that it can be very easy for any one of us to end up homeless due to our fragile economy. It can happen to any one of us "normal" people. Hence, being homeless and needing a safe place to go does not make you a criminal. Homeless people were once just normal people and they should be seen as an equal in our society. It doesn't mean they can just do whatever they want, but they aren&…  Read more

People are not illegal. This system has failed individuals that are unable or unwilling to obtain adequate housing. Many people that refuse shelter are suffering from mental illness and/or do not want to be exposed to unsafe living conditions in shelters. There's a deep lack of humanity and compassion running rampant in our communities that views the victim as the perpetrator.

 @9FLSX5PDemocrat from Illinois disagreed…7mos7MO

where else would they go? they are often rejected job opportunities and have mental illnesses, what other choice do they have?

 @9FFFQRG from Texas disagreed…7mos7MO

Homeless people shouldn't be treated a different way. They are all going through something just like we are. Instead we should be able to help them. Provide clothes, food, and shelter for them.

The government is barely doing anything, if at all, to aid homeless people, why must they be criminally punished for attempting to gain shelter? Homeless shelters can only take on so many people and only have so much supplies. This would also take up too much space in jails/prison, taking away room for a cell tat could be used on a violent criminal that needs to be off the streets.

 @9F6ZW2L from Texas disagreed…7mos7MO

now it is harder to find an affordabul house or apartment now days, so people don't have anywere to go.

If the person does something illegal yes, but if there are no sign of illegal acts then they should let it go.

 @9FTRLC8 from Texas disagreed…7mos7MO

Homeless people are in most cases, citizens of the United States and are entitled to their first amendment right to assembly.

Where do you want someone with no home to stay, on private property no that's owned by someone who could kick him off. I think that if you live in america your aloud access to any public place with no exception.

 @9F8QS8H from Washington disagreed…7mos7MO

Any homeless person who has downright refused the shelters we granted them access to should not be supported. They have already made their bed, and now they have to lie in it.

 @9FPBSND from Indiana disagreed…7mos7MO

Gathering on public property is a fundamental right guaranteed by the constitution. Being homeless should never be a crime.

 @9FL896G from California disagreed…7mos7MO

The government shouldn’t make it a criminal offense because why would you arrest someone for attempting to find shelter when there is more than enough shelter for you to give to them but “there not a top priority”.

 @9FBP8CSLibertarian from Texas agreed…7mos7MO

If we have people outside day and night that can affect the look on society; it may affect the economy or our infrastructure.

 @9F7NM59 from Missouri disagreed…7mos7MO

how are they going to not be homeless anymore when they dont have a place to stay dont have proof of identity

 @9F8TZR9 from California agreed…7mos7MO

Giving the homeless the opportunity to be sheltered, yet them not wanting to and sticking to drugs does not sit right.

 @9GPC84Y from Pennsylvania disagreed…6mos6MO

I think the government should give hundred-thousand dollars to the homeless to help them.And homeless shouldn't be arrested.

 @9FXBVKM from Washington disagreed…7mos7MO

Putting more people in jail or doing more sweeps won't solve the problem of homelessness. Addressing systematic inequalities and setting up more social safety nets would be a better solution.

 @9F76W77 from Washington agreed…7mos7MO

Because the homeless are normally associated with drugs and criminal activity. When given the opportunity to have shelter and food should be able to take it because it will decrease criminal and drug activity.

 @9FB3XCMForward from Texas disagreed…7mos7MO

Well, they can't go to another country or place that'll allow them to other than what they already know. IN addition, finding food and going to another is difficult due to urbanization, its different now than it was 200-300 years ago.

 @9FLH3C4 from Texas disagreed…7mos7MO

We must do what is Christ-like us and if jailing people who are impoverished and drug-addicted who are trying to make it by living on the bare minimum is Christ-like to you I don't think we belive in the same god.

 @9FJ7TMC from Georgia disagreed…7mos7MO

The tents should just be taken down, the people do not need to be imprisoned for trying to provide themselves with shelter. Law enforcement can ask them to leave and take the tents with them and if they do not they should be transported our of the county.
