A person who is more successful will obviously get better benefits in life, for example a person who wants to become a doctor will get more money than a person who gives less effort/less prominent role in society. Why would you tax more on a person who earned it? It feels you're targeting the rich who earned their spot just because you didn't. (Of course there are always different sides to both parts)
