Yes, common triggers like sexual misconduct, gore, violence, are things not seen in everyday life, and if they are included in lectures and required materials it should be noted on the syllabus and prior to that lesson so any students with ptsd can excuse themselves. You wouldn't show a room of old people war videos because of how common ptsd is among veterans, and war videos can be very triggering (which is an actual clinical term used around ptsd). The same applies in classrooms where the statistics show many people experience sexual abuse, and a simple "hey gore ahead" prevents someone from flashbacks of a terrible event should be maintained in all contexts where it is possible to maintain that barrier between traumatized people and their triggers.
