We shouldn't have to debate what counts for death penalty as it is generally pretty clear those that are there did horrible things. Perhaps a bit in Hamarabe-esque fashion equal punishment could be decided for the criminal or the victim's family could choose the punishment. However even though I'd be fine with the aforementioned I wouldn't mind just being a simple execution. I am for it, though I do want to say that I do believe that there should absolutely be no question of guilt and the case had better be sound.
