I don't think we should decriminalize drug use, however, we should treat drug-abusers as people and we shouldn't send them to prison unless they are dealing drugs/are involved with other criminal activity. Instead, we should put these individuals through required programs to stop them from illicit drug use. To be honest, we cannot stop drug abuse until we change public views on the subject and until we get rid of the corruption in our government. We should also abolish intelligence agencies like the FBI and CIA who often have roots in the problems of drug distribution and aren't willing to put any effort towards stopping real crime. In fact, these intelligence agencies only serve to further worldwide crime through their unethical methods and undeserved treatment of American citizens.
