If we can't trust them with the same rights as every other citizen, then they should not be released. This includes the right to own a gun. If they are too dangerous to be trusted with a gun, why are we allowing them back into society? We are saying "This person is dangerous. They are likely to harm or kill someone, so we want to keep them from LEGALLY purchasing a gun, (as if a convicted criminal is going to follow the law). We know they can obtain a gun illegally if they want to and commit horrendous crimes with the weapon but that's OK. At least they didn't purchased is legally. We can sleep well tonight".
