It's good to produce things locally, therefore less transportation and burned gasoline and fossil fuels from trucks and other forms of shipping. So in one respect, I think putting a tariff on imported products is a good idea for our environment.
However. Many people in China rely on their jobs producing for, well, us, and would be financially harmed by our tariff of their work. People might say, 'But, that's China, this is America, why should we care about them,' but I care about all humans involved, even the humans in China.
Maybe we could introduce it slowly somehow to give them time to find better jobs and adjust their lives financially.
