I believe a balance is important, but also to rule and judge without the consequence of upsetting the judges own party will bring the most genuine and un-baised rulings. A full focus on the case and dedication to the legal process would be much easier if there is always an equal amount of judges from both parties. So if a republican judge leaves the seat, then a republican will need to replace that seat. Same for the democrat side. Always have an equal amount.
