No, this increases likelihood of discrimination of people desperate for monetary gain and many people just won’t do it and it is not going to solve the larger issues

No, this is a violation of the 2nd amendment, Federal government can label anything as "assault Weapons" Even rifles who are one rounds, loaders and magazine rounds. These people should be retired and exiled from office. The want unarmed Americans while they still have their extreme armed bodyguards if we get invaded by foreign powers I hope to see them executed by the enemy but they won't be here they off in safe homes. While we be left to die.

@9N39JHMRepublican from New Jersey answered…2yrs

I think we should increase mental health and background checks, but also have strong financial incentives.

@9KWHLZ5Republican from Florida answered…2yrs

No; but there should be an overall better mental health system, mandatory one year conscription where you get to take your gun back home with you. Felons lose their right unless restored through a legal process.

@9K92ZH8Democrat from New York answered…2yrs

There are very few actual assault weapons owned by private citizens. This would be a waste of time and money.

I think we should be allowed to own those kinds of guns, but there needs to be better background checks. If people want to sell their guns to the government or a company they should be allowed to

@9JZFWR7Peace and Freedom from California answered…2yrs

Yes, but I understand it is unrealistic due to how hard it would be to get everyone's guns back

@9JWNHLYSocialist from Utah answered…2yrs

No. Assault weapons should be banned and those who do not voluntarily give them up should face criminal repercussions.

no, but we should limit people buying guns and that you can only have a certain amount at a certain age like 25

@9JC8P89Green from Illinois answered…2yrs

No, "assault weapon" isn't even a thing. We should supply training and licensing for anyone who wants any form of weapon, provided they pass appropriate mental health and background checks.

@9J997J7Socialist from Oregon answered…2yrs

Yes, begin a mandatory buyback before banning private ownership of all guns

@9JBSGRQVeteran from Tennessee answered…2yrs

No, the federal government should instead issue all citizens over 16 a rifle.

@9T8RLQ5Socialist from Connecticut disagreed…1yr

you can’t be serious with this. This would promote fun violence, not to mention the fact that a very large number of people would not even want or accept the weapon. And the cost to do this.... I mean come on

@9J96T4CGreen from Iowa answered…2yrs

No, it should be voluntary with strong incentives; there should also be more comprehensive mental health and background checks.

@9J6ZTXFGreen from Texas answered…2yrs

There should be more effort in gun training and thorough background checks

@Cliff-HulcoopGreenfrom Maine  answered…2yrs

No. Ban the sale of bullets and guns instead. Eventually the bullets will wear out and maybe the guns will stop working.

@9HTNKRMGreen from Kentucky answered…2yrs

No, increase mental health and background checks, also demilitarize the police

@9HRZT4TVeteran from South Carolina answered…2yrs

The Government could not pass any reasonable Gun ownership test it could possibly take

@9HRW9YRRepublican from Ohio answered…2yrs

No, automatic and assault weapons should be held at a neutral armory for use but not kept in a private residence.

@9HQYXQYVeteran from Arizona answered…2yrs

No, they should however allow the law abiding citizen to buy new ones again... No one goes into an assault with a semi-auto.

@9T8RLQ5Socialist from Connecticut disagreed…1yr

This is actually not true. If you watch videos of soldiers in combat, they almost always use single fire, because it is more controlled and accurate, as well as conserving ammo

@9HNDDMXWomen’s Equality from Ohio answered…2yrs

It should be voluntary. Also increase mental health and background checks.

@9HMGGSSLibertarian from Ohio answered…2yrs

No, it is a violation of the 2nd Amendment and the constitutional protection against ex-post facto laws.

@9HJWKS2Justice party member from Minnesota answered…2yrs

We should be limiting guns to the people but not to the cops. We need better background checks before buying and higher punishments if you misuse them.

@9HJF46PConstitution from Illinois answered…2yrs

They need a plan to get street weapons not legally purchased weapons.

@9HHZL9TTranshumanist from California answered…2yrs

No, but assault weapon owners should have significantly higher hurdles to clear before buying/owning.

@9HHMSLWLibertarian from Maryland answered…2yrs

@9HGVT3DConstitution from Texas answered…2yrs

No, Assault weapons arent an actual thing and have no set definition

@9HDDD4PWomen’s Equality from Florida answered…2yrs

Don't need a buyback, just educate and make better regulations to purchase.

@9HCT76WLibertarian from Florida answered…2yrs

No, the second amendment was written to ensure the ability of the people to defend themselves against any and all threats, including the military of their own government in the event a tyrant turns the military against the people, and as such the people are granted the right to bear arms, not pistols, not small-bore rifles, not pitchforks, but arms, any arms, including the mythical and highly arguable definition of "assault" weapons.

@9HCQZV6Peace and Freedom from Texas answered…2yrs

yes, but the police shouldn't be the agents buying the guns instead they should just terminate them

@9HCMYXMVeteran from Arizona answered…2yrs
