How does nostalgia for past traditions influence your preferences or behavior in the present?

 @9KXWXJ4 from Florida answered…2mos2MO

Traditions aren’t for government. We should be evolving and moving forward based off of experiences not traditions

 @9KXWCGH from Texas answered…2mos2MO

I believe that if things aren’t broken, you shouldn’t try to fix it. Some things don’t need change. I believe that the country has turn away from traditions that benefitted the country greatly.

Do you think maintaining traditional holidays in their original form is important, or should they evolve with society? i think that its a a persons business if they want to do that.

 @9KXWZMZ from Connecticut answered…2mos2MO

Depending on the holiday, it should vary on whether to maintian its orginal form or evolving to meet current society standards.

 @9KZMDR2 from Nebraska disagreed…1mo1MO

It wouldn't be considered a holiday because a holiday is born through tradition and develops culture.

 @9KXWKKD from Georgia answered…2mos2MO

I think keeping holidays how they are originally is very important, because i do not want to partake in lgtbq christmas

 @9KYW3SXSocialist from Nebraska disagreed…2mos2MO

The Christmas we celebrate now doesn't resemble its original form at all. If all you care about is LGBTQ people, you don't care about tradition or the religious aspect of Christmas. You just want an excuse to hate gay and trans people. If you really want a more traditional and spiritual Christmas, you should be against the disgusting over-commercialization of Christmas, not the fact that sometimes queer people want to celebrate it too.

 @9KXWNFP from North Carolina answered…2mos2MO

Traditional holidays can be celebrated however person celebrating wants.

How do you think the preservation of language is connected to maintaining cultural traditions?

 @9L2LLYYRepublican from Iowa answered…1mo1MO

it just keeps that hint of a culture around that will interest people into learning more about the culture

 @9L2M8GSDemocratfrom Louisiana answered…1mo1MO

The United States have no official language, so in short terms yes, it's important for other people to preservate their culture but as well it's important to know how to move in a country where the majority speaks one language

 @9L2LRTK from Illinois answered…1mo1MO

Preserving languages from different cultures allows for more diversity and inclusion, allowing for it to be passed down from generation to generation; without them, cultures can slowly lose the significance that language within cultures holds as it's not being passed down.

How do you interpret the saying 'respect your elders,' and is it relevant in today's world?

 @9J25XB6 from Florida answered…4mos4MO

Yes they have a lot to teach but respect is a mutual thing you get what you give so sometimes you do what you must.

 @9J257C4 from Nebraska answered…4mos4MO

They should be treated with respect since they've lived their life and have learned from their many mistakes. That being said it's less of respect more just be nice and judge them based on you own thoughts.

 @9J254DQ from Minnesota answered…4mos4MO

i think that it is very important to respect them because they are very wise and know a lot.

 @9J25644Republican from Michigan answered…4mos4MO

It is very relevant they should be taught with respect

 @9J29QMT from California disagreed…4mos4MO

I think that it's important to instill a sense of right and wrong in younger generations. Yes, everyone deserves respect ONCE they earn it. Respect isn't given and if an elder disrespects or harms you, then giving them respect isn't something you are obligated to do. It's important for others to feel comfortable stating their opinions and not feel offended or attacked by doing so.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2mos2MO
