What kind of world would we live in if we prioritized kindness over wealth?

 @9K96FLVIndependent from Florida answered…2mos2MO

Socialism is terrible. kindness is always important and should be considered over wealth

 @9K97RCXfrom Maine answered…2mos2MO

By prioritising kindness, the poorest and worse off (i.e. the people most in need of help) would receive the most care out of anyone, and those at the top would not. As such, wealth would balance and overall the planet would be a kinder, more equal place.

How might a focus on empathy and understanding alter the way we view those in different economic circumstances than our own?

 @9KCM9GS from Virginia answered…2mos2MO

That is why we should allow charitable deductions
Church's should have local outreach programs to help with this issue.

 @9KCLSCN from Florida answered…2mos2MO

People might understand the idea more if they apply empathy and understanding to their thinking.

 @9KCLLFKIndependent from California answered…2mos2MO

People would be concerned with others and not ourselves, bettering the economy

Do you believe that achieving a high level of personal financial success is a sign of divine favor?

 @9JNXSGHDemocrat from Colorado answered…3mos3MO

No not at all. I don't think that God favors people over other people. He has a plan for you and wants you to be successful but sometimes that's not in His will.

 @9JNXPPL from Texas answered…3mos3MO

 @9JNXM9H from Texas answered…3mos3MO

No, just because you have money, and are wealthy doesn't mean it's a sign og favor, Just means you worked hard, money doesn't matter when it comes to "divine favor"

How would putting others' needs before our own change the way modern businesses operate?

 @9HHC3G7 from Kentucky answered…5mos5MO

It would lessen prices on most things making things more affordable for the poor

How have you seen Christian teachings influence decisions in the workplace or marketplace?

 @9HJ23NF from Pennsylvania answered…5mos5MO

Socialism is not a christian theory, because it always falls into tyranny. Christians believe in charity.

 @9HHCZ6D  from Texas answered…5mos5MO

I have seen political Christians make oppressive decisions in the workplace and market place

 @9HJFRKW from California answered…5mos5MO

Unfortunately not so much any more because of the push of secularism and attacks on Christianity as a whole

What lessons from scripture do you think are most pertinent to addressing today’s economic disparities?

 @9HGGXLL from Oregon answered…5mos5MO

Most likely the messages of love and anti-violence. The bible was very useful on setting social guidelines, and that could be useful now.

 @9HGGN8XRepublican from Washington answered…5mos5MO

An easy quote that many have used is John 3:16, which loosely states that those who believe in him will be saved. It's that simple. Our time here is big, but our time with him is bigger. Economic disparities of our day are challenges we must overcome, but also uplift God and his message while doing that.

 @9HGHGFF from Utah answered…5mos5MO

Jesus taught to help those who are less fortunate. He understood that some are better off than others and even in socialism, there would be those who rise above others.

 @9HGHW2B from Oregon answered…5mos5MO

I do not think todays economic disparities should be influenced by religion.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…5mos5MO

Should religious leaders be more vocal about economic systems, or is that beyond their spiritual mandate?

 @9HF8BG7 from Oregon answered…5mos5MO

 @9HF8D9K from Idaho answered…5mos5MO

No state and religion should be separated they have a different reason for being in that religion.

 @9HF8BNGfrom Montana answered…5mos5MO

Seperate relogion from state, however, religion should apply to all aspects of human life in its teachings.

 @9HF7YPH from Utah answered…5mos5MO

I believe that religious leaders should speak out on whatever they seem necessary more or less as long as they are respectful of other views

 @ISIDEWITHasked…5mos5MO

If wealth were to be distributed according to Christian values, how do you think society would change?

 @9HKBQ4YConstitution from Pennsylvania answered…5mos5MO

I think people would view the government as more of a theocracy, and I don't think people would be very accepting of that.

 @9HHCGQ4 from Missouri answered…5mos5MO

I don't think they would like it all the way, and there would be more drama, cases etc. People won't think its fair to one another cause they are working for something the others aren't.

 @9HHBCVC from Alabama answered…5mos5MO

Well, I think society would view the government as increasing theocratic views, and if it was only to be distributed based on Christian values, it may not work out, idk.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…5mos5MO

How do you reconcile the pursuit of wealth with the biblical teaching of serving others?

 @9H7MM6T from Texas answered…5mos5MO

I feel like most people are greedy and take things for granted like gifts, money, college, etc. Those who are greedy don't succeed in life or aren't very religious.

Most Christians do not understand their religion very well, so their faith would be abused by charlatans.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…6mos6MO

How would the early Christians view our modern economic system?

 @9H5F8XT from Utah answered…6mos6MO

 @9H5FZSKDemocrat from Utah answered…6mos6MO

I feel they wouldn't agree, as it's been shown in multiple stories of government (or monarchy for that matter) of people trying to silence religion. They wanted to practice in peace, and I feel like the idea of a religion controlling the government wouldn't make them too happy, even if it was their own.

In what ways might capitalism clash with Christian ethics?

 @9H5JS4QLibertarian from Utah answered…6mos6MO

Exploitation of workers as seen during America's Guilded Age. Workers should be given a safe working environment.

 @9H54PWG from Indiana answered…6mos6MO

In every way. Bringing church into state creates conflicts between the beliefs of those who believe and those who do not
