What personal experiences have shaped your understanding of discrimination and its impact on individuals?

 @9J7KWFD from Arizona answered…4mos4MO

Discrimination is bad and as a minority it can impact people. It doesn't impact me because I don't care but people who do have a right to be a bit angry.

 @9J7K3XJDemocrat from Kansas answered…4mos4MO

Discrimination is not only unconstitutional but it severely impacts the mental health of the group/person being discriminated against. I have witnessed people with emotional trauma due to being discriminated against.

 @9J7G453 from North Carolina answered…4mos4MO

I find it wrong to go after someone just because of their religion and if you disagree with someones beliefs just keep it to yourself because i feel like attacking someone over their religion causes people to be scared to be themselves

 @9J7FX64 from Utah answered…4mos4MO

I know it does hurt those individuals and i think there are ways around it

 @ISIDEWITHasked…4mos4MO

Why do you think some people might resist learning about the experiences of groups different from their own?

 @9J7HC8C from Georgia answered…4mos4MO

People don’t want to feel guilty about what the people of the past have done but learning about these experiences is the first way to prevent them from happening again

 @9J9F44M from Arizona agreed…3mos3MO

I agree that learning the experience of the other side can be important, one other hand I see, people should feel guilt from the others past experiences as it can give more of a better connection, thus giving more respect for the other side

 @9J8FB4P from Texas agreed…4mos4MO

A major purpose of history is to learn what did not work in the past and to learn from the mistakes of our ancestors. If we choose to ignore some parts of history then those mistakes are bound to happen again in the present/future. We should not be ashamed of the shortcomings of our ancestors but instead, be proud that our country has evolved and conditions are much better compared to how they were back then.

How do myths and misinformation about a community, like Jews, get started, and what can we do to correct them?

 @9J39C4MWomen’s Equalityanswered…4mos4MO

they can easily be started when something wrong or bad happens, and there's a need to point the blame or shift the stress onto other things. this can be avoided by just having common sense and good morality/electing good leaders.

 @9J397DK from Iowa answered…4mos4MO

Punish news sources no matter if trash or not on the misinformation and make them issue public apologies.

Can a society truly prosper if it's built on the exclusion or mistreatment of a group of people based on their ethnicity?

 @9H99JLH answered…5mos5MO

There are a multitude of methods in which a society may be nurtured, and that nurturing can be achieved without the maltreatment of individuals based on their appearance or habits (unless it could be "wrong"). Rather, a society should notice the flaws of each group while also propelling each group forward, especially to its citizens.

 @9H96Q8W from Texas answered…5mos5MO

No, it cannot as it creates lots of protesting harming civilian lives, more spending on damages and police equipment, and overall puts a bad image on the country.

 @9H97RXQ from California answered…5mos5MO

No it cannot, it will never truly move beyond that and to really fix it we’d need to abolish everything and start again

How does bullying or discrimination against any group, such as Jews, affect the overall school environment and student relationships?

 @9HLDMJGSocialist from Utah answered…5mos5MO

Bullying against any minority perpetuates decades of abuse that these communities experience, and worsens the school environment overall. Any targeted attack against a vulnerable group in a public space that is based on racist, sexist, or otherwise bigoted dogma does not serve to benefit our society
