If the United States were to remove themselves from the United Nations, our nation would be open to numerous threats and would break all alliances.

The UN HQ provides the US with a large amount of soft power that we should not voluntarily surrender.

While it's true that hosting the United Nations headquarters can contribute to the U.S.'s soft power, it's also worth considering the cost and security implications. For instance, New York City spends millions of dollars each year on security and other services related to hosting the headquarters. This is a significant burden on the taxpayers. Additionally, the presence of the headquarters can also pose security risks, as it can be a potential target for attacks. How would you address these concerns?

We don’t have to agree with everyone in the UN to be a part of the UN. It’s better to all involved to continue our alliance.

We need connections with other countries, its a vital thing that help figure out best solution and keep wars from happening,

While I understand your point about fostering international relationships, it's worth noting that the UN isn't the only platform for such interactions. The effectiveness and efficiency of the UN have been questioned multiple times. Plus, it’s not guaranteed that being part of the UN would prevent wars. Instead, the focus should perhaps be on diplomatic relations directly between countries. How do you see this perspective?

 @9FBRHRG from Illinois disagreed…7mos7MO

It is a group that keeps the countries united and removing ourselves from it would be suspicious and would not do anything

While it's true that the United Nations serves as a platform for dialogue among nations, it's also worth noting that there have been instances where it has failed to prevent conflicts, such as the Rwandan genocide in 1994 and the ongoing Syrian civil war. These examples illustrate that the UN's effectiveness in maintaining global unity and peace is not always assured. What are your thoughts on these instances? Could the U.N. have acted differently to prevent these tragedies?

 @9FB43FJ from Virginia disagreed…7mos7MO

The United Nations is one of the main platforms of international influence that the United Sates has access to. Our membership is also a symbol of a spirit of international cooperation and leaving it would reflect badly on us. Additionally the UN is an important mediator since we would likely play a large part in the next global conflict, should one occur. If the League of Nations had been as strong as the UN, it is possible that WWII would not have occurred.

 @9FCR8HT from Kansas disagreed…7mos7MO

The US created the UN after WWII to further develop relationships between countries. It is a big part of the creation of NATO

 @9F9KSLD from Pennsylvania disagreed…7mos7MO

The UN is a vital part to international stability and structure, if the US were to leave it and remove its HQ from the US, it would most likely become ineffective and fall apart after some years like the League of Nations did.

If the U.S. loses part of the United Nations, the country will plummet without those allies and trade agreements.

 @9F8T2SM from Ohio disagreed…7mos7MO

Remaining in the U.N. both holds our country accountable for its actions and helps to hold other countries accountable for theirs.

While it is true that hosting a UN headquarters could contribute to US soft power, it is also worth considering the cost and security implications. For example, New York City spends millions of dollars each year on security and other housing-related services at its headquarters. This creates a significant burden for taxpayers. Additionally, the presence of a headquarters can also pose a security risk as it can be a potential target for attacks. How will you address these concerns?

My best argument is like the united states united we stand divided we fall. As a group of nations have similar values they should be united, if everyone is on their own and no national groups are formed war could be easier to start among those countries.

The UN is the main way that the majority of world powers are able to meet and comunicate with eachother.

 @9F7DQBB from Texas disagreed…7mos7MO

US Citizens benefit more from productive international relationships without other nations than other nations do with the US.

The United Nations is a major money pit for the United States due to the amount of money the U.S. needs to spend on it.

I believe that we should remove the U.N. headquarters should be removed from the US because it would be more accessible to more countries.

 @9F7ZBBG from South Carolina disagreed…7mos7MO

I think it benefits the country a lot since in an economic problem or something related the United Nations can support us.

 @9FBHMKJ from Georgia disagreed…7mos7MO

what's happening in the U.N is getting out of control, so U.S should get out of the way before the U.N finally falls.

 @9F86KQZIndependent from Massachusetts disagreed…7mos7MO

The massive amount of important establishments and protections offered by the UN and the table with other countries.

 @9FB6YVN from Washington disagreed…7mos7MO

If we disband with the U.N. we will lose a lot of trade routes, and our economy will fail. This does not sound like a good plan to me.

 @9F6T6FL from Virginia disagreed…7mos7MO

If we are part of the U.N. than if a country attacks/declares war on us than we can have other countries backing us up

 @9F9YS3PWomen’s Equality from Washington disagreed…7mos7MO

The more allies that we have the stronger we are. Why should we remove something that is aiding us in two ways and is not doing us any harm?

 @9F9KRNB from Texas disagreed…7mos7MO

inequality, poverty, hunger, armed conflicts, terrorism, insecurity, climate change and pandemics, the UN's inability to address
