I am against abortion because I believe that all humans should have human rights. An unborn baby is without a doubt a human being.

 @9GTHJGKSocialist from Maryland agreed…6mos6MO

I do not agree with this comment because, though I do believe fetuses are humans and deserve human rights, their human rights do not stump the rights of the breathing person that’s already lived a life.

 @9GN9LV2 from Maine disagreed…6mos6MO

When a child or a teenager dies, people often think it's very tragic because they had their whole life in front of them. It wouldn't be as tragic if an old person died, because they had already lived a life. According to your argument, it would be more tragic if an old person died than if a young person died because the old person has already lived a life, which doesn't make any sense. If you were forced to choose between ending the life of an old person vs ending the life of a child, it would be more ethical to kill the old person who has already lived their life. An unborn child literally has their whole life in front of them, so killing them would be the least ethical thing you can do.

 @9GYLPRMPeace and Freedom from Idaho agreed…5mos5MO

I agree but also disagree. If someone were to be assaulted and then have a baby, they wouldn't take care of it. It would be a gross reminder of what happened to her. If someone waits after three months to abort it, though, they shouldn't. be allowed.

 @9GNC7MF from Nevada agreed…6mos6MO

I agree with having Abortion, because what if a woman got raped and she doesn't want the baby no more. It is her choice to make that

 @9GNC487 from Minnesota agreed…6mos6MO

I agree with that statement to a point. What is the mother's life or wellbeing is at risk because of this pregnancy? Is is fair for this child to live if their parents won't be able to provide for them?

If more people understand how sex works and they are able to obtain condoms/birth control, they will be able to prevent unsafe sex. People will have sex no matter if they were taught or if they can obtain birth control, so it's important to make sure they understand how to be safe and provide the resources to do so.

 @9FZFXDTRepublican from California disagreed…7mos7MO

Having safe sex is different from providing safety to the unborn child. Although people might be more knowledgable in safe sex, that doesn't mean they're knowledgeable about what happens in an abortion and the life that your killing.

 @9FZDSKL from Missouri disagreed…7mos7MO

While it is not the sex workers fault she got pregnant it is not the baby fault either. You are not giving the baby a chance at life and its unconstitutional to take someones life so why should you take a baby's life before it even begins.

 @9G3JT8B from Georgia disagreed…7mos7MO

People still chose to be irresponsible by not using anything and a child is the consequence of that action

 @9GL4X8Lfrom Maine agreed…6mos6MO

Abortion is not a sin. Abortion should not only exist for people who have suffered sexual violence. Abortion should not only exist when there is a threat to the person’s life. Abortion should be legal and accessible. Period.

 @9GLG4VF from Arkansas disagreed…6mos6MO

Abortion should be illegal unless you are raped or sexually abused and that is the cause of the pregnancy. If either of the things has not happened to you and you are pregnant you should not be allowed to abort the baby, you need to take responsibility for your actions. If you do not want to keep the baby there are adoption places or other options you can turn to.

 @9GMHF4M from Alabama disagreed…6mos6MO

Abortion concerns more than just the individual who is carrying the child. While I do believe that women who have been a victim of sexual violence should receive counseling, care, and an improved (and cheaper) form of readily available childcare, that person has no right to end the life of another human, continuing the cycle of violence that this person was cruelly thrusted into. The cycle of violence must end. We were all once in a womb and we were protected. Why should we not protect our fellow American citizens who are also in the womb?

 @9GLKHMH from Kansas disagreed…6mos6MO

I disagree with this. Abortion is killing a life inside a woman's body. It is still murder even if the baby isn't outside of the womb yet because it is breathing. If you are raped, do not kill the child because it isn't their fault that you were raped. Abortion should be illegal. Period.

 @9GM32Q3  from Texas disagreed…6mos6MO

Abortion is a sin, it is the intentional murder of a baby. I think it should only be considered if the persons life is in danger. You can also put a child into foster care instead of murdering it. We give rights to people who can't live independently due to medical reasons, so why should an un-born baby be any different. A human life begins at conception, even if you say it is "just a clump of cells" you are correct, but so is every living thing.

 @9GNL8F7 from Idaho disagreed…6mos6MO

Abortion is the taking of an innocent human life and is as morally reprehensible as genocide. Tolerating abortion in any form is not an option so reducing the amount of abortions isn't a morally viable solution as it doesn't seek to end all abortions.

 @9GNP876 from Montana agreed…6mos6MO

Some people get raped and don't want a child. People who are involved in rape, incest or if the birth of the child is a danger to the child and or mother, then they should be able to get an abortion. But people who are having sex without protection and get pregnant, should have the responsibility to keep the child that they decided to not prevent

 @9GNPFVW from Illinois agreed…6mos6MO

I agree that with the whole statement until the part about ending all abortions because some are a needed medical procedure.

 @9GNWPXK from Massachusetts agreed…6mos6MO

Yes I agree with this statement because when you have an abortion you are killing innocent fetuses which are living organisms and we were all once a fetus. So we should end all abortions.

 @9GNPCR6 from Montana disagreed…6mos6MO

If morals are the core component that the opposition holds, then the same could be said about the atrocities that may have contributed to an unwanted pregnancy such as rape. The problem isn't abortion, its the uneducation and violence that causes them to come to an abortion.

 @9GT4P67Socialist  from Nevada agreed…6mos6MO

IT IS NOT YOUR BODY. If it is not your body why should you get any amount of say to what they do to it. The government should not be allowed to dictate what you can & cannot do with your own damn body. This is crazy that it's even an issue.

 @9GTBWKTIndependent from North Carolina disagreed…6mos6MO

It is not just YOUR body. It is the body of an innocent child, who would have a full life ahead of them if you didn't kill it. If you take the risk and end up pregnant, that is on you.

  @VulcanMan6  from Kansas disagreed…6mos6MO

No one who is using your body against your consent is "innocent" and you have every right to stop them from doing so, even if that means they die.

 @9GTBKMDdisagreed…6mos6MO

The reason we should get a say in this because you are killing a human that is alive in you that was made by God. You don't have to take care just don't kill it

 @9GTGZB7Republican from California disagreed…6mos6MO

Literally killing unborn children, no one should be robbed of the chance of life. The chances of life existing to each and every individual are extremely slim, and when that chance is taken away before it can even exist then we are essentially doing away with God's greatest creation. The US has programs in place for children whos parents are unable to take care of them, as well as excellent healthcare for individuals who are concerned for their health during pregnancy.

  @VulcanMan6  from Kansas disagreed…6mos6MO

None of that changes the fact that no one has the right to use your body against your consent, including for pregnancy. If someone doesn't want a fetus to be using their body against their consent, then they have every right to stop it from continuing to do so, even if that means it dies. Your consent over who can or cannot use your body takes priority over other people's right to life, even a baby's.

 @9GT5GNY from Mississippi disagreed…6mos6MO

It is not just you. When you are pregnant, you are not the only person involved: you have another individual human being inside of you, with their own right to life.
Just because the child is attached inside of you does not mean it is not a separate person/organism. Conjoined twins are not one single individual, despite being attached, they are individual from each other. If one does harm to another it is still wrong, even if attached. If I swallow an animal or perhaps a person whole, they are not suddenly a part of me just because they are inside of me. Even if I attached them in such away that we shared a blood supply, they still would not be part of me, and to kill them would still be morally wrong.
To abort a child is to directly deprive them of their right to life, in other words, murder.

  @VulcanMan6  from Kansas disagreed…6mos6MO

You are forgetting about the right to consent. No one has the right to use your body without your consent, for any reason, including a fetus using you for pregnancy. You alone have the right to decide who can or cannot use your body, and if someone else violates that consent, then you have every right to stop them from doing so, even if that means they die. Because, again: they cannot use your body without your consent, and doing so is a violation of your bodily autonomy, hence why abortion is justified.

 @89BQYCZ from Kansas disagreed…6mos6MO

Human life begins at conception, making abortion the murder of innocent, unborn babies. Murder should be 100% illegal. Individuals are free to use non-abortifacient forms of birth control. Parents should absolutely teach their children about sex when the parents believe they are at an appropriate age. Government should not be providing any sort of social services. If you want those, then you ought to provide them with your own money.

  @VulcanMan6  from Kansas disagreed…6mos6MO

They are fundamentally not innocent since they are violating the bodily autonomy of the mother by using her body without her constant consent, hence why it is justified.

 @9GMTHKN from Missouri disagreed…6mos6MO

Someone who was raped or sexually assaulted should not be forced to keep a lifelong memory of that trauma.

 @9GFYD2Y  from Rhode Island agreed…6mos6MO

The trauma and PTSD that comes after a circumstance as horrible as being raped is whats to deal with, not the child that was unwillingly conceived from the act. Not to mention if a young girl who hit puberty early is raped and now pregnant with a body physically un- capable of birthing the child, you're putting both of their lifes at risk. Living things all have their own independance and that's interfered when a women is told she can not have an abortion because the nonverbal cell in her stomach which is living what shouldn't even be considered a life yet also has a right to its life. This ultimateley takes the womens rights forcing her to have the child wether she likes it or not. NO ONE should ever be forced to make choices that will forever change your life, especially not by the government.

 @9GG3JTXRepublican from Indiana disagreed…6mos6MO

Regardless yes the situation the woman was put under is not okay but given that there is still a growing child that can be put in programs that can allow the child to have a ready parental figure rather than a young person who doesn't want the child.

 @9GFZVR3Republican from Idaho disagreed…6mos6MO

It's murder of a child no matter at any stage. Abortion should only be used in cases of rape and even then it should not be taken lightly.

 @EagerUnicorn from Pennsylvania disagreed…6mos6MO

When discussing the issue of abortion, we're dealing with two separate lives - the mother and the unborn child.

From a biological perspective, life begins at conception. This is not a belief, but a scientific fact. From the moment of conception, the unborn child has its unique DNA, different from the mother's. Therefore, it's not merely "a nonverbal cell" but a distinct, growing human being.

I believe that all human beings have an inherent right to life, regardless of their size, location, level of development, or circumstances of conception. This principle of human rights doesn't discriminate based on these factors, and neither should w

 @Supr3meCourtPorpoiseRepublican from Arizona disagreed…6mos6MO

Every life, no matter how it begins, has inherent value. Should the child bear the consequences of the actions of the perpetrator? Isn't that another form of injustice?

 @9HL54LK agreed…4mos4MO

It is a women's body, an individual's body, it is not a man's body, it is not a courts body, it is YOUR body. You can do anything with your body whether it be plastic surgery, a tattoo, even taking care of it or not taking care of it. It is that person's body and it is that simple. It is not anyone's choice, but your own. Some people cannot afford a baby, and some people simply don't want a baby. Whatever it is, it should not matter to other people because it's not affecting them.

 @9HMJP29 from Alaska disagreed…4mos4MO

The issue of abortion is not a matter of a woman's body. It's about the baby's body. If someone was in a coma and you knew they were gonna wake up but they are a real inconvenience to you, do you pull the plug?

 @9HLF5ZN from Minnesota disagreed…4mos4MO

Its murder no matter which way you slice it. A baby in the womb is fully human. There is no biological way around this.

 @9HLT5QW from Oregon disagreed…4mos4MO

take protective care or deal with the conquences no reason to take a life away but circumstances for things like SA though.

 @9HL5TR7 from Texas disagreed…4mos4MO

A women who chooses to go through the process to conceive a child, has already made the choice on whether or not they want a child. There are practices that can be taken before the matter rather than aborting after your poor choices.

 @9GH3KPS  from Tennessee disagreed…6mos6MO

All babies are humans. If you dont want the baby, give it up for adoption. Nobody should possess the ability to kill a human.

 @9GH4ZS3 from Arizona agreed…6mos6MO

Yes, I agree because no matter when you decide to do it once it is conserved and you know that you are pregnant that is now new life and that is/will be a person and you don't have the right to take its life.

 @9GH4MM2Republican from Washington agreed…6mos6MO

Agree because in 99% of cases, the woman made the choice, and with that comes the risk. Punishing someone else for a mistake you feel you made is unjust

 @9GH52YF from Washington disagreed…6mos6MO

its a fetus and clump of cells its not a human. There's already to many children in foster care and the government should not be able to force women to have babies abortions should be allowed as long as its under a certain amount of time.

 @9GH4G9P from California disagreed…6mos6MO

a baby that is going to be aborted is usually just a clump of cells, it's not an actually developed human that can feel pain. Adoption is an even worse fate for a child anyways since our foster and adoption system is horrible.

 @9H8R5ZQ  from Iowa disagreed…5mos5MO

I am against abortion because a fetus is still a human being. They are a living thing. There are some exceptions; there could be a time when a young girl is abused sexually and ends up pregnant. She shouldn't have to deliver the baby at such a young age.

 @9H8W6X7 from Florida commented…5mos5MO

Although unfair, the baby should still deserve to live, that is god's creation and the mother would go into whatever therapies and clinics she needs to go and have the baby up for adoption.

 @9H8T5X4Peace and Freedom from Illinois agreed…5mos5MO

Abortion should be allowed only under certain circumstances. A young child who has been sexually abused/raped should have the right, let alone the choice, to abort the child.
