As citizens, only citizens of America, should be able to vote on what america chooses to do with american business.

 @9GYN4CQ from Arkansas disagreed…5mos5MO

If they go through the process and claim official American Citizenship then they should have the right to vote.

 @9GYP3GQdisagreed…5mos5MO

However, foreigners' ability to vote allows for diversity in ideas and allows for support in the development of new American residents, which can help the American economy since foreigners statistically do the more challenging jobs in the US.

 @9GYNLZSPeace and Freedom from Colorado disagreed…5mos5MO

Foreigners should be able to vote because you can be considered a citizen after living a certain amount of years in America. So Foreigners don't necessarily mean random people from around the world who know nothing about U.S. Also, a variety of different people will help bring different perspectives and different examples to go by.

 @9GYMYLHfrom Guam disagreed…5mos5MO

America is an ocean of freedom not a gas chamber . Any immigrant who stays here for 10 years should vote. That is what the American dream is

 @9GDVZSC from Kansas agreed…6mos6MO

Voting is a right that comes with citizenship in the United States. It has been a hard-fought right for many groups and cannot be taken for granted. Foreigners for the most part already have the right to vote in their country of origin. If foreigners would like to vote in the United States they can apply to become naturalized citizens.

 @9FVYW7D from Pennsylvania agreed…7mos7MO

Non-citizens should not be able to have an effect on American elections, despite their political affiliation.

 @9GGQPKK from Texas agreed…6mos6MO

They are not citizens of the United States. They do not get to vote on how my country is going to be run. I would not get to vote if I lived in their country.

 @9GJMHYR from Colorado disagreed…6mos6MO

Everyone has a right to their own opinion and if someone is a legal resident of the States then they have a right for a say in our government.

 @97W6LWL from Oregon commented…1yr1Y

Its simply that they aren't citizens, not because of hatred or xenophobia, but because it doesn't make sense to have somebody that isn't legally a citizen vote in any of our elections.

 @9G66TP7Republican from Pennsylvania agreed…6mos6MO

If they become a legal citizen then go ahead and vote. Because you are a citizen and are rightfully in the United States. If you are coming here illegally, and trying to elude the law then you should not be allowed to vote.

 @9GL35YL from Kentucky disagreed…6mos6MO

If they are not only living in our country but also of legal age and have proper identification that also adds to the current economy then yes they should have the right to vote.

 @9FV8Y2Q from Idaho agreed…7mos7MO

No, foreigners should not be accessed the right to vote anytime. They aren't American citizens so they can't make decisions for our country.

 @9GHWLB5 from California disagreed…6mos6MO

Although they may be foreign, they are now a resident of the US. They experience America not only as a foreigner, but now as an American as well.

 @9GHJGZ9Peace and Freedom from Indiana disagreed…6mos6MO

If they are not only living in our country but also of legal age and have proper identification that also adds to the current economy then yes they should have the right to vote.

 @9GT2LD4 from Virginia agreed…6mos6MO

Any one who is not a citizen should not have the right to vote. If someone has been living in the country for 10 years or more and has chosen not to become a citizen has also chosen not to have the right to vote. No other country in the world allows non-citizens to vote.

 @9G5KV55 from North Carolina agreed…6mos6MO

Many foreigners require lifetimes to adapt fully to American society, and first generation American citizens that are taught via American schools about American issues and civics are more integrated into the wider political and social culture.

 @9FLTSXW from Texas agreed…7mos7MO

Because they have not filled out the paperwork and do not have the civil rights in the. country they should have no influence on American politics

 @9GD5RMX from Virginia agreed…6mos6MO

Because you aren't one of us until you make the commitment to this country. If you choose to live here while being a citizen of another country long enough to become a citizen and choose not to do it, you are choosing not to have this right. If you do not choose to become an American, you do not get a say on what America does plain and simple. The citizenship process isn't hard, but it requires quite a bit of commitment because you need to be committed to this country and this flag. If you aren't committed enough to brush up on 6th grade civics, stay here for five years, you aren't committed enough to vote. If you do not like what we're doing and want a say become a citizen. If you aren't committed enough to our country to become an actual member of it, you don't like it here, **** ing leave.

 @9FPPWT8Republican from Texas agreed…7mos7MO

The U.S. provides many resources for foreigners to gain citizenship, however there are arguments that it is difficult and a lengthy process to gain citizenship. While this is true, the U.S. would be able to focus more time and funds to the citizenship programs if they weren't having to worry about illegal immigration.

 @9GFPC8ZRepublican from Michigan agreed…6mos6MO

Non-citizens should not be able to have an effect on American elections, despite their political affiliation.

 @9G7K2CX from Texas agreed…6mos6MO

If a citizen isn't from the country it is more likely that they came to vote for someone who will "help" them become a citizen. In some cases there are people who will bribe others to vote for a certain candidate, saying, if you vote for this person then you will get these benefits.

 @9GGQ2D2 from Indiana agreed…6mos6MO

Illegal people should not be allowed to help move the future of this country. If they are a terrorist than it could be detrimental.

 @9B5FB73 from Louisiana commented…1yr1Y

 @9FP3885Republican from Arizona agreed…7mos7MO

By having illegal immigrants being allowed to vote by paying that means they can rig our election system.

 @9F8FW49 from Texas agreed…7mos7MO

Only citizens that have a vested interest in their communities and countries, that pay into the system should have the right to vote. People who pay taxes should have the say in where/how tax dollars are used.

 @9GNB3PH from Louisiana disagreed…6mos6MO

Foreigners should be allowed to vote since united states policy affects them as much as it does our daily citizens if not more.

 @9FP9PT6Libertarian from Pennsylvania agreed…7mos7MO

Constitution gives the right to vote. Foreigners are not covered under our constitution unless they go through the process of citizenship.

 @9FLYFMT from Arizona agreed…7mos7MO

They have had more then enough time to get citizenship. They should have and, have had such chances. No one whos not a citizen should have our rights.

 @9F9S768 from Arizona agreed…7mos7MO

Theoretically, if we allowed foreigners to vote, ill-intentioned groups of foreigners could sway elections in smaller communities. Elections on a larger scale could become corrupted by simply making promises to foreigners in order to get their votes.

 @9F8R5S8 from California disagreed…7mos7MO

Although they may be foreign, they are now a resident of the US. They experience America not only as a foreigner, but now as an American as well.

 @9GG95CB from Virginia agreed…6mos6MO

If they have not bought into the citizenship of the country, they should not have a say in the power to shape the governing bodies.

 @9FMZFX8Republican from California agreed…7mos7MO

you cannot go into canada,mexico or the U.K expecting the right to vote because you do not have those rights there,you would need to be a certified citizen in order to, just like how illegal people in the U.S still do not have those rights because they were not born here,neither are they a citizen

 @9GHX5LHSocialist  from Minnesota disagreed…6mos6MO

Any person who is affected by the domestic legislature of the country they reside in whether they are a foreigner or not should be able to move for what they believe in.

 @9GCYHPB from Florida agreed…6mos6MO

Because they have not filled out the paperwork and do not have the civil rights in the country they should have no influence on American politics

 @9FTC9X5 from Kentucky agreed…7mos7MO

Other countries can more easily take advantage of the american voting system if you dont habe to be a citizen to vote

 @9KNB4MDConstitution  from Utah agreed…2mos2MO

It literally makes no sense to have illegal aliens vote in our country. If anyone says otherwise, then they lack the ability to understand basics and I urge them to pull their head out of their ***

 @9GQ7RVS from Oklahoma disagreed…6mos6MO

If Foreigners have already been living in the country and have been well established and pay taxes, we should give them the option to vote, and set up a timely plan to get their Green card or face deportation.

 @9G7J4S9 from Texas disagreed…6mos6MO

I dont have one if they have citizenship then they should be allowed to vote they are as much American as any of us.

 @9FCF8HLfrom Montana agreed…7mos7MO

If they have not bought into the citizenship of the country, they should not have a say in the power to shape the governing bodies.

 @9FBCL6R from Texas agreed…7mos7MO

they should not be allowed to vote they will bring other ideas to our goverment that wil chnage our country is like immigrants coming into our country and theres so many of them there vote would have an influence

 @9FY483L from Indiana agreed…7mos7MO

For the same reason cited above; The voting public looks at the candidates stances on public policy, and how it will benefit the individual that is voting. A non citizen will be incentivized for example to vote for policies that promote benefit to their country of citizenship over benefit to the USA. Obtaining citizenship demonstrates commitment to the USA and will provide better policy alignment when considering candidates.

 @9F8587V from California agreed…8mos8MO

Foreigners should NOT be allowed to vote because people in the US could use them to boost popularity of their preferred candidate. They shouldn't be allowed to meddle with American life.

 @9GR4KPG from Washington agreed…6mos6MO

Although some people may live in the US it doesn't mean that they have rights here. That's like us going to Mexico and voting for there important people.

 @9GK28G3CA Common Sense from Maine agreed…6mos6MO

America was built by americans who were here from the start. Why let others come, steal from our richdom, and let them have a say in how OUR land is ruled.

 @9GJQNM2Veteran from Texas agreed…6mos6MO

National policy and elected officials should be decided from within our own citizens. We do not need to open the door to outside entities electing our officials to fit foreign agendas.

 @9F7VXPRConstitution from Missouri disagreed…8mos8MO

Most of the people that live in the United States come from foreigners from Europe, and the United States is built on the idea of freedom offered to people that come here/born here.

 @9GZ5P8Z from Alabama agreed…5mos5MO

If they came here illegally they shouldn't be allowed to vote at all because they shouldn't be here in the first place. If they wanted to vote then they should have come here legally. If they couldn't get here legally then they shouldn't be here.

 @9GLSPWF from Illinois agreed…6mos6MO

I do not know of much statistics to back up my position, and am willing to consider the other side if they have good evidence to back them up.

 @9GL3BGNIndependent from Texas disagreed…6mos6MO

to vote in statewide elections. Federal law stated that noncitizens may not vote in federal elections but did not specify whether
