With modern technology and safety precautions nuclear energy is the safest, cleanest, and most efficient form of energy we have available to us

 @NourishingChoughGreen from Ohio disagreed…7mos7MO

While modern technology undoubtedly makes nuclear energy safer than it was before, it's important to remember that it's not infallible. The Fukushima disaster in 2011, despite all modern precautions, is a poignant reminder of this. Moreover, the issue of nuclear waste remains unsolved. This waste remains dangerous for thousands of years and storing it safely is a significant challenge. How would you propose we handle this ongoing issue of nuclear waste?

Fukushima Daichi failed due to it's placement. It wasn't designed to be in that part of Japan, and to this day, pretty much no one actually died directly due to the radiation. We've solved the waste problem by now, we have methods for this kind of thing. We store it deep underground in layers of concrete, lead, sand, and anything to hold it back. We put it in one spot, hide it below water sources, and it's already bought us thousands of years.

Nuclear waste can be stored in the middle of the desert deep underground, trust me, we arent using it for much

 @9FBD5V4 from New York disagreed…7mos7MO

Nuclear energy is statistically the safest most efficient and most abundant fuel resource currently available to us

It has been proven that in our days, nuclear energy is now safe, and accidents entirely preventable. With trust in the individual, the use of nuclear energy is completely safe. Furthermore, I see no better way to address the climate crisis without jeopardising the lives of individuals with lower incomes.

Because it causes harm to the environment. Like for example Japan dumped 1 million metric tons of radioactive water into the ocean. I don't want the ocean being harmed and polluted. I love sushi and seafood and I love swimming in the ocean.

I think that Nuclear energy can be an effective way to use clean energy. Nuclear has become safer and easier to use since it was first used.

 @9GLMHRGPeace and Freedom from Wisconsin agreed…6mos6MO

No, we shouldn't/have Nuclear Energy either for Wars or anything that could cause anyone harm, Because it's just not right and it's definitely NOT needed. Same for the Police Dept. If Police get a call about some man armed with a knife but the man isn't killing or harming the police, then instead of shooting them to disarm, call in a k-9 unit, run after them if they start running and tackle them *try your best to disarm them*, or use a tazer. Not your freaking gun to kill them. If they use a gun, least aim for the arm or leg, not the chest or head.

 @9FFFRDJ from North Carolina disagreed…7mos7MO

its not harmful as some of the other powers are like coal is its efficient as well more than solar and wind

 @9FBJY8G from Texas disagreed…7mos7MO

It has been proven over the years to be way safer than other forms of energy including fossil fuels and others, but only if handled safely but due to other events such as Chernobyl people are unwilling to give it a chance

 @9FDYGVQIndependent from Texas disagreed…7mos7MO

Nuclear energy is much safer now than is was in the past and is one of the cleanest and most reliable sources of energy available. The problem of nuclear waste has been solved as well.

 @9FFDQ8T from Arizona disagreed…7mos7MO

Nuclear power is getting a rethink as a way to reduce reliance on fossil fuels in an energy-hungry, yet warming world.

 @9GGNZD4 from New York agreed…6mos6MO

Nuclear weapons damage the earth and we need the Earth to survive for ourselves and the people after us .

 @9GJTKBQ from Missouri agreed…6mos6MO

Although nuclear energy is essential in generating electricity, there are a lot of disadvantages such as waste and environmental impact, which may cause long-term consequences.

 @9GLDKZ2 from North Carolina agreed…6mos6MO

Japan Look what it did to JAPAN killing hundreds of thousands why should humans have such power. We are playing god

  @9CJ6CB6 from Virginia commented…6mos6MO

Nuclear energy does not equal nukes, it didn't for most of the time that technology even existed, and you can thank Einstein and Oppenheimer for that. Nuclear energy isn't the issue, nukes are, and we can ban those on the international scale with actual strong rules, but nuclear energy is necessary.

 @9FM6WRHLibertarian from Indiana agreed…7mos7MO

proponents of a transition to cleaner, more sustainable energy sources argue that investments should prioritize renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency measures, and energy storage solutions. These approaches offer a path to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, addressing climate change, and achieving long-term energy security without the drawbacks and complexities associated with nuclear energy.

As to someone who resides on a nuclear free country don’t put up to debate for what our defense would look like when being attacked

 @9GPKGP3 from Illinois agreed…6mos6MO

I don’t think nuclear energy is right to use and is very dangerous and a risky thing to be using because one wrong move with nuclear energy and hundreds of cities and towns could be wiped away and millions of people could die

 @9GNT5K6Socialist from Texas agreed…6mos6MO

Nuclear energy produces radioactive waste that is extremely toxic and contaminates our environment. Uranium is non-renewable, and it is extremely expensive to use. When producing nuclear energy, any mishandling or mistakes can set the economy back billions of dollars, and be catastrophic to lives for thousands of years. The use of nuclear energy has created an arms race globally, and is only going to be dangerous in the long-run due to the construction of nuclear weapons.

 @9FJFF7F from California agreed…7mos7MO

Nuclear energy is a weapon more than it is to "progress the world", so at the end of the day its personal benefit for a small amount of time. The consequences are more long-term and drastic.

 @9FDRXDY from Florida disagreed…7mos7MO

It’s been over a decade since the last nuclear energy disaster. Safety systems have become much more intuitive.

 @9F82PK5Peace and Freedom from California agreed…7mos7MO

There is a lot of accident with nuclear energy and if we are not cares full about this and many people can die

 @9GNC2K6 from New York agreed…6mos6MO

no debenmos poermitir la posicion nuclear ya que provoca la enfermedad aguda por radiación y la muerte.

 @9GH62HLIndependence from Texas agreed…6mos6MO

I don't think any country needs to be nuked or anything like that, that would just decrease the population.

 @9FJFRXK from Oregon agreed…7mos7MO

There have been over 90k metric TONS of nuclear waste released since the 1950s which is absolutely destroying and mutating life. We should not allow something so disgusting.
