It wouldn't. You take out a loan, you pay it back. If you can't, dont take out a loan.
@9LFWBV3Libertarian2mos2MO
I've paid off my student loans, do I get paid back for paying them off??
@9LFPQ8T2mos2MO
It would depend, you could look at it as if it was unfair to your friend or whoever that someone else's student debt was forgiven while their wasn't, but you could also look at it in a way that is hopeful and shows that maybe sometime in the future their student debt will be forgiven as well
@9LFX5772mos2MO
It shows that progress is being made towards forgiving student debt for everyone, it just takes time
@9LGV6HN2mos2MO
Personally experiencing student debt, or knowing someone who struggles with is
@9LGLS8LRepublican2mos2MO
I believe this is a good spending tactic of the government.
@9LG4Q5W2mos2MO
Student debt relief should be individualized to people who deserve it and who are contributing to the health and future of the nation. This would include healthcare workers.
@9LG2TLZProgressive2mos2MO
Having a personal experience with student debt would make me more enthusiastic in wanting it to be improved or alleviated.
@9LFYWSMPeace and Freedom2mos2MO
If you cannot pay back a loan and do not take it out and just pay out of pocket
@9LG28KV 2mos2MO
The government should either nationalize all public education (collegiate, primary or secondary) or get out of the business of managing and financing education altogether, be it through student loans or regulating educational institutions. When is it not considered 'enabling' to forgive debts? Plus, borrowing money is a contract...should everyone have their car payments and mortgages forgiven? Is everyone to be forgiven for their life choices without consequence? Maybe allow the payment of debts in other ways (e.g., documented value-added community service), but don't enable individuals to avoid personal responsibility for their choices.
@9LFZMQX2mos2MO
I think she is a liar and is just trying to win votes.
@9LFZYQX 2mos2MO
That would be a beneficial decision from the vice president, in favor of college students. College students would benefit from debt relief to pay their tuition.
@9LFYBRTIndependent2mos2MO
going to college should not put students in debt and should not be a worry for students. They are the future
@9LFY2JB2mos2MO
Knowing what it would be like to struggle with student loan debt would make me want to support the government forgiving student loan debts.
@9LG3H56Republican2mos2MO
I think it would be cool if she did it in more states and I don't know any body who I in debt
@9LFTTHS2mos2MO
Personally experiencing it would help me be on Harris' side.
@9LFPHD92mos2MO
I would think that the government should be forgiving because no one should be struggling because of student debt.
@9LFTQSX2mos2MO
I would support it and be happy for everyone affected (positively)
@9LFQ82K2mos2MO
no they should do a program, but mot pay for it all
@9LFQ2DB2mos2MO
We need total debt reform. Student loans are predatory and saddle the younger generation with undue burden that prevents them from achieving milestones previous generations acquired earlier in their lives.
@9LFPZRSProgressive2mos2MO
There will be financial relief, it reduces the stress and anxiety of being able to remove a burden that is debt.
@9LFNH592mos2MO
If I was drowning in student debt of course I would want the government to relieve it.
@9LFN7VG2mos2MO
It would influence to agree with the vide president's actions.
